Subaru STI may go Diesel

In an attempt to meet emission needs Subaru may be producing a diesel STI. Countries have been tightening up their CO2 emissions standards and the response by car manufacturers seems to be smaller engines or making the switch to diesel. The diesel engine being produced by Subaru has been rumored to have 200 horsepower and over 300 pound-feet of torque, so it will still be quick. As of now, reports suggest the diesel model of the STI will be restricted to Europe, but it may be available in the US at some point. http://bit.ly/a0ixNu
